Application

Lithium chloride may be used as a salt precursor for the preparation of stock solution of lithium for the determination of lithium ions in environmental water samples by ion chromatography equipped with a high-capacity cation-exchange column. It may be used to generate lithium adducts of neutral carbohydrates present in food and beverage samples and plants so as to increase the sensitivity of detection for quadrupole mass spectrometry analysis (MS) with electrospray ionization (ESI) post their separation using anion exchange chromatography.
